Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Upon your arrival at Cairo you will be met by one of our guides who will personally walk you through Egypt’s Visa, customs, and immigration process.

We will be there to guide you through baggage and out to the passenger pick up area where one of our private guides will escort you to your accommodation.

Day 2: Giza

Most Egyptologists believe that the Giza Pyramids were built to be tombs for the ancient Egyptian pharaohs.

As day breaks, you will have the opportunity to explore the Great Pyramids of Egypt, the ancient city of Memphis and take in the sites of the Sphinx, Saqqara, the Solar Boat, and the once formidable Chephren Pyramid.

You will be provided with your own experienced driver and a qualified Egyptologist.

You will be given entry to either the Menkaure (Mycerinus) or the Chephren (Khafre) Pyramids, as well as the Solar Boat. Access to the Grand Pyramids is not guaranteed in this itinerary as only a limited number of tourists are allowed inside the Grand Pyramids daily.

So, if you really want to include this in your visit to Egypt, be sure to tell your Tour Guide the day before so that all possible steps can be taken to ensure you get in.

A buffet lunch at a great local restaurant is provided.

After lunch, you will have time to unwind before heading out on a sunset tour of the desert.

Travel by camel or horseback, guided by your private tour guide into the desert and watch the sun slowly set over the Great Pyramids before taking in a unique dining experience at a Bedouin restaurant.

Day 3: Cairo to Luxor

Take a trip from Cairo to Luxor via plane. We will arrange the transport and the transfers.

In the afternoon, take in the East Bank of Luxor with your guide who will show you the stunning temples of Karnak and Luxor.

Beginning with the Karnak temple you will stroll along Sphinx Avenue and enter the complex, as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed.

Continue to Luxor Temple, which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a one-mile long Sphinx Avenue.

Day 4: Luxor

While staying in Luxor you will have the opportunity to explore some of the most amazing attractions in all of Egypt. Your guide will take you to the famous Valley of the Kings where you can explore some of the world’s most ancient tombs.

These tombs were constructed for the kings, including King Tut, and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Afterward, you will be taken to the Valley of the Queens to see the recently renovated mortuary temple of the most powerful and famous woman in ancient Egyptian history, Queen Hatshepsut.

You will also enjoy the sites of the massive Colossi of Memnon, which are all that remain of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

In the afternoon, relax while sailing down the Nile from Luxor towards Aswan.

Day 5: Nile

Your journey down the Nile River will end at the town of Edfu. While in Edfu you can see the falcon- headed god temple of the God Horus and his wife Goddess Hathor.

Your private Egyptologist, will also show you the Temple of Horus, the falcon god, considered the best preserved cult temple in Egypt.

It is so well preserved because it was built in the Ptolemaic era from 237 to 57 BC, much later than most other temples of its kind. Despite its later date, it reflects traditional pharaonic architecture and so provides an excellent idea of how all the temples once looked.

Edfu (Temple of Horus) is also very large: the second largest in Egypt after Karnak Temple.

In the afternoon, you will visit a unique Greco-Roman temple dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the sun god. The Temple in Kom Ombo (also known simply as Kom Ombo Temple) dates from about 180 BC, during a period known as the Ptolemaic era, and had some additions built on to it during Roman times.

After visiting Komombo temple, the ship will continue sailing towards Aswan.

Day 6: Aswan

Your guided tour in Aswan, will begin with a visit to the beautiful Aswan High Dam, then to the Temple of Philae, which was dedicated to the Goddess of magic. The temple was built on Philae Island and attracted pilgrims from all over the ancient world.

When the Egyptians built the High Dam, Philae temple was pulled out of the water and re-erected on Agilika Island.

Take a break at the old site of the main granite quarry to visit the unfinished obelisk. You will see a practical demonstration of the methods used by ancient craftsmen to cut impressive obelisks and granite statues.

In the afternoon your private guide will pick you up for your private Felucca (sailboat) ride. Your sailboat will take you around around Kitchener Island. This is the largest botanical garden that was started by the famous British army leader, Lord Kitchener. You will also see all the sites of Aghakhan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island.

Day 7: Aswan – Abu Simbel – Cairo

Private transfer with your own dedicated vehicle from your hotel to Aswan airport will all be arranged for you as will your flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel and Abu Simbel to Cairo.

Private transfer with a private vehicle in Cairo is also provided.

You will take a flight from the airport at Aswan to Abu Simbel (45 minutes, flight included) where you will meet your private guide and tour one of the most beautiful temples in Nubia and Upper Egypt, Abu Simbel temple.

After visiting Abu Simbel temple, your tour guide will lead you to Abu Simbel airport. From Abu Simbel you will take another flight to Cairo (2 hours, flight included).
